We will ride and build some features around Basecamp as we continue to pursue technical challenges. This year's trip includes a few bonus rides where we shuttle high above the valley and ride a combination of cross country and downhill back to camp (with a net altitude loss of course).
Nights are spent at the OWA/Bison Peak Lodge. OWA provides all of the equipment including -- bikes, helmets, clipless pedals and shoes. Of course participants may bring their own bike. Mountain Bike Race Camp |
 |
|
| July 04-July 11 |
Coed |
Age Group: 13-17 |
If you are into mountain biking racing or like riding fast, this is the trip for you. Our Mountain Bike RACE Camp is designed to give team members "a leg up on the competition". The group rides every day with a focus on developing the technical skills and fitness necessary for racing mountain bikes or fast rides...........and at the same time will develop the full range of skills to help each person become truly proficient at mountain biking .
Located at 9000 feet above sea level, central Colorado is the perfect place to get strong with a multitude of varied terrain on some of the best trails in the world. There will be actual racing opportunities as the Colorado race schedule allows including local Summit Series races in Breckenridge/Keystone/Vail and typically one USA cycling/Mountain States Cup event. Racing is NOT required-- some team members are typically more interested in skill development and not in racing itself. They can help with logistics and support of teammates during race events as well as pre-riding the course. Wether you enjoy racing or just riding fast youll be tired at the end of this trip, we guarantee it!
Specific instruction is offered in technical riding skills, fitness and nutrition, race strategies, mechanic skills/repairs, trail maintenance and responsible/minimum impact use of riding resources. Obviously, no one can ride 24/7-- so there are other diversions that might include whitewater rafting, hot springs, and rock climbing. This trip will be guided by Professional mountain bike racer and OWA guide Ryan Dorsey.
There are 9 spots available often this is our first camp to fill up.
