July 23- August 6         Boys 11&12         $1400

Our Base Camp program has provided a solid adventure and outdoor foundation for many! For 2000, we are limiting the ages to 11 and 12 year olds in an effort to provide an even better experience for our younger team members.  The focus of the 15 day program is on instruction and application in a wide range of adventure activities with the specific schedule based on the needs and desires of each particular Base Camp team. New team members will have a chance to learn from the ground up while veterans start where they left off before. By focussing the program in the Base Camp area there is plenty of time for instruction and activity with a minimum of travel time. Base Camp activities include fly fishing, backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, snow skills, outdoor cooking, orienteering, environmental study, whitewater rafting, and general outdoor skills. Special events iclude a raft trip on the Arkansas River, climbing/fishing trip to Eleven Mile Canyon, group conservation project, mountain biking on the Colorado or Midland Trail, a five day trip into the Tarryall Mountains and the solo/duo campout.  The goal of the Base Camp program is to provide fun outdoor learning and a solid base in adventure skills that will lead to a lifelong interest in outdoor adventure.
