A native of Texas, David earned his PhD in English from Duke and has been an assistant Professor of English at Northern Illinois University since 1990. He has been guiding for OWA periodically since 1984 and has taken on the chore of managing and devoping OWA's ever growing adult program areas. He has a Wilderness Advanced First Aid certification, is a certified lifeguard, and understands the correct useage of lay and lie. He, wife Sheree, and kids Amy and Brian reside in DeKalb, IL.
