(Tenative for 2008) Wind River Backcountry Expedition 10 days of magnificent backcountry for an ultimate fly fishing experience. The Wind River Expedition is a combination backpacking and fishing trip into the Popo Agie Wilderness Area in Wyoming's Wind River Range. OWA has been exploring the "Winds" each summer for 24 years and we wouldn't head back each year if it wasn't absolutely one of the best backcountry destinations in the world. The trip originates at Denver international airport with the group spending some 7 days out on the trail-- exploring, learning backcountry skills, ascending a peak or two and fishing. The fishing is hard to beat-- Goldens, Cutthroats, Rainbows and Brookies are plentiful in both streams and alpine lakes. No previous experience required. Enrollment is limited to 9 with at least 3 OWA Guides.
